The 5 Mistakes That Keep People Stuck
People stay stuck in transition because of a few common traps:
Waiting for perfect clarity before taking action
Clarity arrives through taking action, not by waiting for a lightning bolt moment.
Equating your worth to what you do
Your worth isn’t gone just because the role ended.
Wrestling with decisions without knowing your values
Knowing what you value makes decisions much easier.
Waiting for a sign instead of using wisdom
More than likely, you already have everything you need for the journey.
Overthinking it all instead of focusing on the next step
You don’t need a five year plan, just clarity about your best next step.
The Cohort is designed to break these patterns — and replace them with clarity, confidence, and a conviction-driven plan you can actually act on.
So… how does the cohort work?
👉 You’ll gain access to the tools, coaching, and resources you need to get clarity every step of the way.
💡 Week 1: The Path of Transition
Most people feel stuck because they don’t actually know where they are in their transition. They lump everything into “I’m confused” — which makes decisions feel impossible. We use The Path of Transition to identify your current phase and the pressures, emotions, and expectations that come with it. Once you can name your season accurately, you stop fighting the wrong battles.
❤️ Week 2: Identify Your Unique Value
After leaving ministry, most leaders can’t separate their identity from their role. This creates confusion, insecurity, and constant second-guessing. Using The SEE Triad, we surface:
- who you are regardless of what you do
-
what this season has formed in you
-
the strengths and skills you have acquired
-
what is life-giving vs. draining
👀 Week 3: Facing Fears & Honoring Values
Without clear values, everything feels like a “maybe.” This leads to overthinking, fear, and decision fatigue. We use the The STEP Framework to identify fears that are keeping you stuck. Next, we identify your top 3–5 non-negotiables. These are the filters every next step must pass through. Decision-making becomes simpler and more peaceful. You gain a practical lens for making decisions about opportunities, conversations, and experiments.
🪴 Week 4: Next Step & Flourishing
In transition, people jump to big decisions too quickly… or they freeze entirely. Both come from pressure rather than discernment. We use the Next Step Statement framework to craft your best, most clear step toward flourishing in this season. You leave the cohort with language, clarity, and a concrete next step — something aligned with who you’re becoming, not who you felt pressured to be.
Let your life catch up with your calling.
If you’ve stepped away from ministry — by choice or by circumstance — you already know how disorienting this season can be.
👉 Your identity is tangled up in a title that’s no longer yours.
👉 You wonder if your years of service even count anymore.
👉 The question “What am I even qualified to do next?” won’t leave you alone.
👉 And the isolation is real — like nobody else really gets it.
Can I tell you something?
This isn’t just about figuring out what’s next. It’s about becoming the person you’ll need to be to do what is yours to do in a new season.
The longer you wait to align things like your values, God-given strengths, and sense of purpose – the more you’ll try to justify why it’s just not the right time.
You’ll stay stuck repeating the same cycles led by fear, insecurity, and deep seated beliefs that something new is just not possible for you.
You end up staying in environments longer than you should and settling for roles that are safe.
This creates an inescable tension inside of you, that just doesn’t go away. So you ignore it or find ways to distract yourself to avoid facing the discomfort.
But this is exactly why this season matters more than you might know right now.
When have you ever taken a next step that is deeply rooted in who you were created to be — not in what others expect, not in what a title demanded, not in who people told you to be?
This season is your chance to create your future from identity, not pressure, and finally move forward with clarity, conviction, and confidence.
Here is what you get

Live a life that is true to who God made you to be.
In the Alignment Lab Cohort, you’ll find:

📌 A clear understanding of your strengths and what you bring to the table.
So you can see real possibilities again — not just pressure or fear.
📌 Freedom from the internal cycle of burnout, overthinking, and second-guessing.
So decisions feel grounded, not overwhelming.
📌 Confidence in your next step.
So you can move forward with conviction instead of waiting for perfect clarity.
📌 Real momentum.
Where small, aligned actions start compounding into a future you can actually imagine yourself living.
👉 In just 4 weeks, you’ll move from “Who am I now?” to “This is where I’m going — and why it matters.”
I built this program because I know what this season is like.
After 18 years in pastoral ministry — and over 20 years at the same church — I stepped away.
It wasn’t just a career change. It was an unraveling of a life I had built.
I’ve successfully walked through:
👉 Vocational upheaval and change.
👉 The grief of relational loss.
👉 The deep identity questions that come when the role you built your life closes.
I’ve also experienced what’s on the other side:
👉 Rebuilding trust in myself and in God’s ongoing work in my life.
👉 Recognizing my strengths and skills still matter, even outside the context I once relied on.
👉 A new season that’s aligned with calling and meaning, instead of the roles and expectations I thought I had to live up to.
That’s why I created this Cohort.
So you don’t just grit your teeth and get through this transition — it becomes the season that shapes you, realigns you, and sets you up to flourish on the other side.

Our shared values
Curiosity
We embrace curiosity as a gateway to deeper understanding and transformation. Curiosity isn’t just about asking questions; it’s about seeking new perspectives and challenging our preconceptions. It’s the fuel that drives our journey of continuous learning and discovery. With curiosity we open ourselves to a world of endless possibilities and insights to enrich our lives and others.
Growth
Growth is at the heart of everything we do in this cohort. For us, hitting goals and metrics is secondary to our personal and spiritual development. We see growth as a holistic process – evolving not just in our roles as leaders but in every facet of our being. We’re open to improving, adapting, and refining ourselves first, understanding that this will always produce better results and more impact for those we lead.
Authenticity
Authenticity is the cornerstone of a fulfilling life, meaningful leadership and relationships. We encourage you to bring your true self to the forefront. We’re ditching the days of leading without integrity, lacking self-awareness, feeling uncomfortable in our own skin, and being disingenuous in our interactions. It’s about aligning our actions with our innermost convictions, ensuring that we lead not just effectively, but also with empathy and grace.
Relationships
No one is successful alone. Supportive, collaborative relationships are pivotal to impactful leadership. You can move forward with more confidence when you’re able to lean into the collective insight of trustworthy peers. This is one of the greatest benefits of a healthy community – it’s mutually edifying. It’s in these connections we find strength, gain diverse perspectives, and create momentum that propels us all towards the type of leadership we feel good about at the end of the day.
The bottom line…
You don’t need more time circling the same questions.
This season of transition can either keep you stuck in uncertainty or become the catalyst for a life more aligned with who you are and what God is calling you to.
The step you take in the next 90 days has the power to reset your trajectory for years to come.
👉 Will you stay where you are, wondering if clarity will ever come?
👉 Or will you join a proven path that helps you move forward with confidence, alignment, and purpose?
The Alignment Lab Cohort is your invitation to stop drifting and start building momentum toward the life and leadership you were made for.
